Everything You Need to Know about the New FlightScope Golf Software Update

FlightScope has officially launched a functional software update for its FS Golf App. Introducing a sleek new interface, tour-grade practice tools, elevated video analysis, and seamless desktop integration.

Designed to dial in your game, remove the guesswork from range sessions, and enhance practice versatility for players and coaches, this release refines how ball-flight and swing metrics are tracked and analyzed; whether practicing in an indoor simulator or putting in work on the driving range.

A Redesigned, Modern FS Golf Interface

Driving this update is a fully redesigned  FS Golf App, featuring a streamlined navigation structure and a refreshed home screen that puts critical performance metrics front and center.

To simplify practice setups, the update introduces a high-contrast Full Light Mode that improves outdoor visibility during sunny range sessions. Combined with enhanced UI responsiveness, the interface delivers immediate, real-time feedback after every swing.

For faster session starts, a new Profile Statistics and App Defaults dashboard allows users to pre-save their default club, ball type, and favorite tile layouts under Profile > Golf Set Up. Golfers can also track monthly performance progress at a glance with high-level summaries of total shot counts, longest drives, overall distance, and total sessions completed.

Immersive 3D Trajectory and Unified Display Control

FlightScope’s 3D Trajectory View receives a major visual upgrade, offering extensive environmental customization. Golfers can now customize their virtual range backdrop with diverse foliage options - such as pine, maple, or mixed trees; and select dynamic lighting presets such as Clear, Overcast, Golden Hour, or Night Mode.

Customizing your view is streamlined through Unified Display Settings, a single consolidated side panel that controls camera angles, view heights, trajectory styles, and range environments without cluttering the screen.

  • Precision Camera Angles: Adjust Down-The-Line (DTL) camera height and lateral offset for a tailored point of view.

  • Custom Trajectories: Personalize ball flight lines by switching between Default, Comet, and Gradient styles.

  • Club Color-Coding: Assign unique gradient colors to individual club types to visually distinguish shot patterns across a full session.

  • Integrated Dispersion and Target Views: Overlay shot groupings directly onto the 3D range or utilize Interactive Range Targets featuring dynamic distance badges, customizable target placement, top-view overlays, and a specialized Broadcast Camera that tracks landing precision.

Smarter Practice: Data Margins and Normalize Shot

FlightScope continues to pioneer data-driven training with two standout features designed to optimize bag gapping and eliminate environmental variables.

Smart Data Margins

Golfers can now set custom performance margins per club or let the software automatically calibrate margins based on their skill level. By entering a single benchmark - such as a 7-iron carry distance and location - Smart Gapping automatically profiles target distances and ideal data parameters for every club in the bag. Users can also input historical session data or import custom CSV files for total bag management.

Smart Data Margins is included with  X3 and X3C users. Mevo+ and Mevo Gen2 users require the Pro Package software upgrade to unlock this feature.

Normalize Shot

Environmental factors like wind can distort shot data and swing analysis. With the new Normalize Shot feature; accessible via a single toggle directly on the DTL Trajectory View - the software instantly recalculates trajectory and data parameters to deliver a standardized performance profile. Golfers can apply normalization in real time during live practice or retroactively apply when reviewing saved historical shots.

Next-Level Video Analysis and Dual-Video Comparison

The updated Video Gallery serves as a centralized hub for managing, reviewing, and sharing swing clips.

The software automatically identifies and tags Automated Monthly Highlights for each club based on four core parameters: Longest Carry, Max Ball Speed, Max Club Speed, and Best Strike (Smash Factor). Advanced filtering tools enable players and coaches to quickly sort recordings by date, club, or session type.

For deep mechanical reviews, Video Comparison enables side-by-side, frame-synchronized dual-video playback. Users can analyze progress over time, utilize built-in drawing and annotation tools, and record voiceover commentary directly over synced clips for easy sharing between students and instructors.

Gamified Practice Expands to PC

Bringing structured, high-stakes training to bigger screens, FlightScope’s popular challenge modes are now fully optimized for widescreen, high-resolution desktop displays.

PC users can now access three dedicated game modes designed to test speed, distance control, and accuracy under pressure:

  1. PGA Challenge: Test your game directly against real-time Tour averages.

  2. Range Competition: Target-based drills built to sharpen distance control.

  3. Long Drive Competition: A speed-and-distance format designed for maximum output.
